Structural & Frame Assessment
- Inspect entire frame for signs of fatigue, corrosion, or stress cracking
- Verify all welds and gussets are intact, especially at mast mounting points
- Confirm counterweight is properly secured and balanced
- Check chassis alignment using cross-dimension inspection
Advanced Engine Diagnostics
- Perform compression test across all cylinders; record values
- Check timing and injection patterns via diagnostic tool
- Replace valve cover gasket and inspect camshaft wear
- Measure exhaust backpressure and check turbo operation (if equipped)
- Test for crankcase pressure abnormalities
Drivetrain and Transmission Overhaul
- Flush and refill transmission with synthetic-rated fluid
- Inspect planetary gear set, torque converter, and clutch pack clearances
- Road test under full load and incline conditions
- Remove and clean magnetic drain plugs, record debris content
Steering & Suspension Diagnostics
- Perform tie rod and kingpin looseness inspection
- Test hydraulic steering cylinder leakdown under load
- Inspect steering knuckle seals and fluid for contamination
- Adjust steering backlash to within OEM limits (≤2")
Full Electrical System Retest
- Check alternator output under full load: ≥13.6V
- Load test battery to 50% of CCA rating
- Replace all fuses, inspect relay board for heat damage
- Record resistance on ground points (<0.2 ohm)
- Document ECU firmware version and update if required
Compliance & Documentation
- Renew annual OSHA-required forklift safety certification
- Verify load plate, VIN tag, and service records are intact
- Complete audit checklist and log all issues into CMMS
- Generate full inspection report and attach PDF version
